About Raktamokshana
Raktamokshana is the controlled removal of a small quantity of blood, traditionally used where the blood itself is considered to carry the imbalance. Leech therapy is the most common method. It is the most clinical of the five procedures and the most tightly restricted.
How it is given
The procedure begins with assessment and, where appropriate, blood investigations. It is performed in a clinical setting with sterile single-use equipment, by a practitioner trained specifically in it. The quantity removed is small and measured, and the site is dressed and monitored afterwards.
Important
This procedure is not available as a booking and is not performed at home. It is offered only after consultation, and only where your practitioner judges it appropriate.
